We are starting to get many inquiries regarding buying hearing aids over the Internet. As they do appear to be substantially less in cost, we would like to explain what you are getting for your money. How does Landmark Hearing's services compare to other hearing aid service packages?
Let's take for example a Widex Diva CIC aid, which is listed at $2599 on 'Hearing Planet' over the Internet. $2099 is for the aid itself, and $500 of the total goes directly to the dispenser for the following services for ONE YEAR ONLY:

Initial hearing aid evaluation
Impression fee
Initial delivery/fitting
45day supply of batteries
ONE year service/cleaning/retuning/counseling
1-2 year factory warranty
Loss/Damage Deductible $400!


Landmark Hearing Services Basic One Year Package includes:

2-3 months supply of batteries AND
LOW Loss/Damage Deductible $150-250!

It has always been the hearing industry's belief that including unlimited service (more than one year) to a device produces better likelihood for long term satisfaction. We also understand now that many patients have HMO's which cover hearing tests and would rather pay $10 co-pay at the clinic for rechecks than to have us provide it in our office. Medicare does NOT allow billing a hearing test unless it is medically necessary for the referring physician to determine medical treatment. That means that many initial hearing tests and almost ALL recheck hearing test will be the responsibility of the patient ($75-120).
